SHANTI CELESTE [Idle Hands, Peach Discs, Dekmantel, Secretsundaze, Brstl / UK]
NTS Radio host and Bristol DJ Shanti Celeste became an integral part of the city’s diverse musical community with her love for classic sounding house grooves. Having worked behind the city’s leading record store Idle Hands, the Chilean-born selector started to earn a reputation for earmarking good music, eventually becoming co-founder of the store’s BRSTL imprint. Last year, she went on to establish a new label -Peach Discs-, proving the crate-digging, party-loving tastemaker as being a prime exponent of warm grooves, 808s and chic soul melodies.
FRANCES BE [DSS]
Frances Be has grown close to the sea, inspired by that vivifying saline breeze and in the meantime searching for pop, tropical and electronic sounds. 2016 has been the year in which he has synthesized his taste for dance music embracing house and techno without any complex. Always attentive to what goes on out there, she is characterized by a subtle affinity for punchy drums, fast rhythms and discreet melodies.
EDDIE MAE [DSS]
Ines García Azpiazu, Eddie Mae in the night scene, has a varied and not very long experience in the nightclubbing scene at San Sebastian. House, techno, disco, funk or whatever is necessary are used by her to encourage the dance. Of course, they are musical selections that have gone through a strict filter. She is, in short, a fisherwoman of big fish in the dense river of electronic music. Big fishes that make you dance.
