Eli "Paperboy" Reed
Born in Boston in 1983, Eli 'Paperboy' Reed is one of the great revivalists of classic American soul. At 18 he moved to Clarksdale, Mississippi, where he honed his craft playing in Delta juke joints alongside blues veterans. He then spent time in Chicago as minister of music at the church of soul legend Mitty Collier, an experience that would shape his sound forever. Back in Boston he formed The True Loves and in 2008 released Roll With You, the album that launched him onto the international scene. With a devastating falsetto and an incendiary live show, Reed has spent two decades fusing Chicago soul, gospel and classic R&B without losing an ounce of authenticity.
