Young Fresh Fellows
Formed in Seattle in the early 1980s under the leadership of the inexhaustible Scott McCaughey, Young Fresh Fellows are a seminal institution of American power pop and garage rock. Precursors to the vibrant Pacific Northwest alternative scene before the grunge explosion, the band forged their reputation on energetic guitars, infectious melodies, and an irreverent sense of humor. Essential records such as The Fabulous Sounds of the Pacific Northwest and Topsy Turvy established their college rock cult status. Combining the 1960s drive of The Sonics and The Kinks with punk attitude and bright pop, they remain a lasting touchstone of the underground scene.
