Alai

ALAI is the project of Alai Ormazabal, a DJ and producer from Tolosa who takes Basque club culture to another level. Her sound is rooted in the hip-hop, reggae and Caribbean rhythms she grew up with, woven together with drum and bass, UK garage, jungle and breakbeat to create a dancefloor electronic music with its own identity. Self-taught in production, she later completed a master's degree in music production and technology. In 2021 she released 'OZEN', a conceptual album about the female experience built with synthesizers and recorded conversations with friends; in 2024 came 'YUCA', an EP released with Oso Polita after winning the Harrobia Saria at Gaztea Maketa Lehiaketa, where tropical sounds explode over broken beats.
